JOB SUMMARY: Operations and Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative and reactive maintenance, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining solar assets. Responsible for managing time and resources. Responsible for assigned O&M activities associated with the solar PV sites.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

  • Q-TRAC maintenance and calibration
  • AIM Box maintenance and calibration.
  • Assist in Special Project preparations, as needed.
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Turn on/off Q-TRAC and AIM Boxes
  • Complete Freeze/Thaw process, as needed.
  • Aid in direct exposure field layout planning, rack setup, etc.
  • Create requisitions for material needed for maintenance and equipment, as needed.
  • Housekeeping (keeping work area clean, helping with other housekeeping)
  • Assist with general exposures, as needed.
  • adherence to safety procedures
  • Other duties as required or necessary

There will be occasions that demand very quick reactions such as 24-hour responses to system failures. Technicians may be called into work, on a weekend or previously scheduled time off, at night or on a holiday, to perform troubleshooting and repairs, preventative maintenance, and other technical services.

 

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Mechanical and electrical training is required, with the ability to read and follow schematics and electrical drawings.

Must have experience with, machinery, gears, electrical motors, logic controllers, actuators and solenoids

INTER-RELATIONSHIPS

Must be able to work well in a team environment. High degree of cooperation is required among all technicians. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position involves a large amount of time in the field as well as time in the laboratory. Must be able to operate an electric cart and lift moderately heavy or awkward sized objects. 

NEEDED ATTRIBUTES

Care and maintenance of tools, organization of workshop items, analytical thinking capable of tracking down equipment failures. 

Salary 40K to 50 K + DOE

Must be willing to submit to background check and drug screen.
